Story
The Thandel story revolves around Raju, a brave and experienced fisherman from Matchilesam. Following in the footsteps of his late father, Raju becomes the leader, or “Thandel,” of his fishing boat.
Raju has been in love with Sathya since childhood. Their relationship is tested by the dangers associated with his life at sea. Sathya worries constantly about Raju’s safety and wants him to find a safer job so they can build a peaceful future together.
However, fishing is deeply connected to Raju’s identity, and he finds it difficult to leave the sea behind. Despite Sathya’s concerns, he sets out on another fishing trip with his friends.
During the journey, Raju and the other fishermen accidentally drift into Pakistani waters. They are arrested and face a difficult situation far from home.
As Raju struggles to return to his loved ones, the story explores love, courage, patriotism, sacrifice, and survival.
