Movie Overview
The Raja Saab, directed by Maruthi, attempts to revive the light-hearted, romantic side of Prabhas by blending elements of horror, comedy, fantasy, and emotion. While the concept is interesting, the film struggles to hold together.
Story Summary
Prabhas plays Raju, a man devoted to his grandmother (Zarina Wahab), who is suffering from Alzheimer’s. When danger threatens her life, he is pulled into a mysterious conflict linked to a haunted mansion.
Execution Issues
Although the haunted house looks visually appealing, the film fails to create fear or tension. Forced humour and casual behaviour from the characters weaken the horror element.
Wasted Potential
A dark and promising backstory involving Sanjay Dutt is briefly introduced but never fully explored. Supporting characters, including the female leads, are underwritten.
Performances & Runtime
Prabhas puts in a sincere effort, but inconsistent writing and an overly long 189-minute runtime make the film feel slow and tiresome.
Final Verdict
The Raja Saab has flashes of potential but ends up as an uneven and exhausting watch that doesn’t live up to its promise.
