Story
Based on a true story, Dead Man’s Wire follows Tony Kiritsis, a frustrated real estate developer who believes he was financially ruined after being cheated in a land investment deal.
On February 8, 1977, Tony entered the offices of the Meridian Mortgage Company intending to confront mortgage broker M.L. Hall, only to find his son, Richard Hall, in his place. Determined to expose those he believes betrayed him, Tony takes Richard hostage using a sawed-off shotgun connected to a deadly “dead man’s wire”—a trigger mechanism attached to his own neck that would fire if anyone attempted to interfere.
As police, negotiators, and the media surround the tense hostage situation, the nation watches a dramatic standoff unfold. With every passing hour, emotions rise, negotiations become more complex, and the line between justice and desperation begins to blur.
