Story
The story follows newlyweds Karthik and Anu, who begin their married life after purchasing an old second-hand apartment.
At first, the couple is excited about having a home of their own. However, their happiness soon turns into fear when they start experiencing strange incidents inside the apartment.
Taps switch on and off by themselves, electrical switches operate without anyone touching them, and unusual things begin happening around the house. Anu becomes convinced that something supernatural is happening.
When she asks the neighbors about the apartment, she learns about a disturbing incident involving a family that reportedly disappeared from the same building.
Anu also discovers a strange child-like drawing hidden behind a desk in the bedroom. The drawing begins changing and multiplying, making her increasingly suspicious that the apartment has a dark history.
Initially, Karthik dismisses Anu’s fears. But as the strange events continue, he too begins to realize that something is seriously wrong with their new home.
Plot
House Mates begins like a traditional haunted-house story but gradually develops into a more unusual fantasy and science-fiction mystery.
