Story and Plot
During his early journey, Rama receives guidance from the revered sage Vishvamitra and demonstrates his strength and courage by defeating the demoness Tataka. His journey later takes him to Mithila, where he successfully lifts and strings Lord Shiva’s divine bow during Sita’s swayamvara, earning the right to marry Princess Sita.
However, Rama’s life takes a dramatic turn when royal politics disrupt his expected succession to the throne. Queen Kaikeyi invokes two boons promised to her, demanding that her son Bharata become king and that Rama spend fourteen years in exile.
Accepting his father’s commitment to the promises, Rama renounces his claim to the throne and leaves Ayodhya. His devoted wife, Sita, and his loyal younger brother, Lakshmana, accompany him into the forest.
Their life in exile is eventually shattered when Ravana, the powerful ruler of Lanka, orchestrates Sita’s abduction through a deceptive plan involving a golden deer. Her disappearance sets Rama and Lakshmana on a determined search to find her, laying the foundation for the epic conflict that follows.
The first instalment explores the early chapters of this legendary journey, bringing together themes of righteousness, family, sacrifice, love, and the struggle between good and evil.
