In the Appalachian wilderness, members of an isolated Pentecostal community risked their lives to prove themselves to God under the leadership of Father Lemuel (Walton Goggins). Mara (Alice Englert), Lemuel’s daughter preparing for her upcoming marriage to the young believers chosen by Umut (Olivia Colman) under the guidance of her father, trying to hide the secrets she might able to reveal. Goggins will embody Lemuel Childs, an ambiguous preacher who determined to maintain this way of life in a changing world and to contrary to tradition.
